AGM Report 2014
Dear members,
Our AGM was held in the Snug House, Kildalkey on 13th November 2014 and we were delighted to have an attendance of 15 members. Attendees were James Monaghan, Stephen Skelly, Paul Rochford, Martin Blake, Brian Heverin, Michael Collins, Karl Stewart, Richie Delae, Bill Hayes, Martin Hickey, Trevor Darling, Ian Kennedy, Mattie Lynch, Tom Carroll and PJ Ward. Apologies were received from David Dolan, Denis Botha, John O'Connor, Stephen Kelly and Brian Carroll.
James opened the meeting by congratulating the entire society for the 2014 year. With 40 members we were delighted to see the increase in membership numbers and are looking to further increase the membership with new and returning members where possible. The quality of the courses played helped significantly in the improved numbers.
Special mention and thanks was given to each of the following:
* James Monaghan for his tireless work as secretary of the society for the past number of years. As James is stepping down from the role it is fitting that the quality of courses played in 2014 and next year will certainly be part of his legacy. Once again, well done James.
* Mattie Lynch for his work as captain during 2014. Working behind the scenes Mattie is an immense asset to the society and has done an excellent job.
* Karl Stewart for his efforts in raising further sponsorship even during these tougher times. These monies help the committee subsidise courses where it is felt necessary, along with having the ability to pay deposits for future courses. Special mention to Electrolux (Ireland) Limited for their sponsorship over the past three years.
* Richie Delea for his excellent work as handicap secretary during the year. Along with this Richie is responsible for the updating of all information on www.kildalkeygolf.com website (a super addition to the society over the past years).
* All other committee members (Bill Hayes, John O'Connor, Trevor Darling) for their assistance in the smooth running of the society through the year.
* Thanks also to Sean and Jackie and all the staff in the Snug House for their constant support of our society.
Winners from 2014 were congratulated as follows:

Congratulations to our golfer of the year 2014, Stephen Skelly following a superb year of golf with the prize not decided until the final round.
And a new member of the 40's club was born following Brian Heverin's magnificent 40 points in Headfort. The jumper is in the post!
Massive disappointment in the society this year after having our pockets picked by Marcies in the Ryder Cup event held in Trim this year. We look forward to wrestling the trophy back in 2015.
Karl Stewart then spoke briefly with the Treasurer's Report. For the year 2014 the society has not lost any monies and sponsorship of ?600 from Electrolux allows us to subsidise events through the year. Kildalkey Golf Society donated €30 to Kilcock Golf Course Charity event and made our annual donation of €200 to local St. Vincent de Paul. Bank charges incurred during the year amounted to €53 and our average spend on prizes per outing was €300. We had 40 fully paid up members during the year and we have agreed to keep the membership at €40 per player for the coming season. Deposits paid to courses for the upcoming year totalled €700 and our bank balance remains in a healthy position.
We have a small amount of hats, baseball caps and one polo shirt with Kildalkey Golf Society logo available to anybody interested.
The committee for 2014 then put themselves forward for re-election and this was passed with the one change being John O'Connor taking over as secretary from James Monaghan.
Mattie Lynch then gave his outgoing Captain's Report, thanking the society for all the help and the committee in particular and concluded with his wish to keep the number of members up, if not increasing.
Mattie then performed his final duty as Captain, nominating Tom Carroll as Captain for 2015. This was seconded and Tom was welcomed onto the committee. Well done Mattie on your year and the best of luck to Tom for 2015.
It has been agreed to keep the open draw system in place for 2015 and the handicap system to remain in place as shown on www.kildalkeygolf.com website.
Thanks to Brendan Johnson who has agreed to print wallet cards with details for courses chosen in 2015.
